Raised on design, construction, and music, I am interested in the intersection of modernism with local culture, vernacular building traditions, and environmental influences. I believe in crafting places that are beautiful, useful, and artfully economical in their use of resources. I value clarity and serenity, achieved through elegant simplicity. I design dwellings that are harmoniously shaped by the inhabitant’s chosen site, budget, and way of life from the largest gesture to the smallest detail. I strive for an engaged, open, and fun process with dedicated clients and partners in creating spaces that both serve and transcend their time and place.

I am the architect and founding principal of Cumberland Architecture LLC, a full-service architecture studio specializing in modern residential place-making. I hold a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech and have over a decade of experience in commercial and residential architecture. I am a Registered Architect in the State of Tennessee.
